What's next

So the last update came out a few days ago.

I've been getting some friends to play through the latest version and so far feedback has all been positive, especially regarding the better boat, which Nullific can be thanked for.

It doesn't feel like enough though, I'm definitely happy with how the game has improved, but there's always room for improvement.

Animation is a big area that needs improvement, and that will be the focus of this next update. I'll be remodelling the boat to be designed for a single person, to create a more lonesome feel, and reanimating the PC to only have one boat paddle. This should make movement feel a little smoother, along with creating a transition state for entering and exiting the boat.

Beyond this cutscene triggers will be reworked in some cases, so that rather than cutscenes triggering whenever the PC enters them, they instead trigger when the PC scatters ashes. The ash scattering points themselves will be changed from floating white cubes to something more fitting.

Animation is likely going to take up a lot of my time so I think that may be it for the next update, although I'd ideally like to add a few more assets like clouds and plants to add some visual polish to the forest.

Uni is getting pretty busy at the moment with other projects, so I can't comfortably give a date for when this update is likely to come out but as it gets closer to the time I'll put out another dev-log.
